You can easily bring this tunnel with you on your outings, or you can also set it up at home for some extra enrichment fun! Place it between your couch and a table or chair and let your little one explore to their heart's content. Toss a treat inside, or even a food puzzle or snuffle mat. With time you'll see your dog become more and more comfortable going through on their own (especially if you reward them as they figure it out!), before you start turning this into an agility game where you can say "Through!" and they'll know just what to do.

When most people hear flirt poles, they think of cats and kittens. But what if I told you that your dog has just as much prey drive as a cat, and oftentimes more! The flirt pole is a fun and engaging way to get your dog to use their natural prey drive talent and instinct (max) especially when it comes to small breeds! Our little guys were built to be able to fit in places only the animals they chased after could hide. You can also change the attachment and swap it for any other small toy your dog is into. However, we do recommend keeping your flirt pole sessions short (5-8 minutes), as they will be lots of fun but very stimulating.

This is probably one of my favourite go-to food puzzles! Mainly because its level of difficulty is one you can play around with and make it super easy for your pooch, and through time make it as challenging as it's meant to be. That's why we think it belongs in our top Ph.D. level! 3 weeks may not be long enough for most dogs, but it's a good start before swapping for another (to give your dog a break, let them miss it a little) and renting it again later on! At its highest difficulty, you would lock as many of the white pieces as you want and your dog will need to first unlock them in order to move the green pieces with their paw or nose to get to the piece. The unlocking mechanism is what's going to really put your dog's brain to the test, as not every dog will have enough strength in their paw to pull on them to unlock (you can semi-lock each piece for easier pulling).

This puzzle takes unlocking to a new level! Your little one will need to master 3 things (and in the right order). 1. Moving the bone-shaped locks into place to unlock the drawers 2. Make the connection that the positioned means the drawers can now open 3. Open the drawers using their paws or their mouth

This is one of my favourite puzzles to throw inside the freezer with some treats, or even banana or apple puree. It's not the most challenging for a seasoned puzzle pooch, but it's still great for them to have to search for different kinds of treats (the less you put inside, the more they need to search!).

Push to start! This is one of those food puzzles that I might recommend leaving out, for your dog to let you know that they're good and ready for some enrichment fun. You can use the button as a cue from your dog that they're hungry, or that they feel like engaging with you. You can always take a break from it by putting the puzzle away, and hiding some treats in it for next time!

This is a great puzzle that not only skilled puzzlers are ready for, but also young or inexperienced dogs too! That's because it central area can act just like a dog bowl, if you place your dog's food directly inside there and a couple of treats on the contour compartments. This way, your dog can slowly be introduced to the idea of a puzzle and the skills required to become a pro.

This puzzle likes to keep your little one guessing a little. By having kibble or treat pieces hidden in different pockets your dog can then move around and smell/hear for where it landed, to then open that corresponding hatch. The fewer food/treat pieces you have your dog work for at a time, the better. That way their success is based on their skillset, rather than a high probability of multiple pieces falling everywhere. It can feel challenging at first, but the most eager of dogs are likely to quickly master it and be able to accomplish it with precision, every time!

Your dog will have to move pieces aside to find where you've hidden their favourite treats. They can even use the buzzer button to let you know that they're ready to start, or that they're done finding the last piece you hid inside. Break this puzzle into two activities. Before they get to figure it out on their own, present it to them as a prompting game, where they have to paw the button to get you to begin putting pieces inside the puzzle. Do this by rewarding them with a treat each and every time they touch the buzzer button.

This puzzle is perfect for puppies, young dogs or any dog who is being introduced to the idea of food puzzles and mentally enriching exercises. Your dog will have to use their nose or paws to move each piece and uncover the treats you've hidden.  The fewer food/treat pieces you have your dog work for at a time, the better. That way their success is based on their skill set, rather than a high probability of multiple pieces being everywhere. Pro tip: Once your dog has figured out this puzzle, wrap it in a towel, put it inside a cardboard box and bury it in your dog's toys so they have to jump in and dig, just to get to their puzzle!
